our values
At FOUNTAINHEAD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (FCS), we cherish shared responsibilities and participatory approach in making decisions in order to make clear what can be expected from pupils and staff. The following statements reflect those values that we cherish at FCS. We recognize that we all are fallen persons, sinners both by nature and by deed, and are incapable of serving God effectively in our own strength. Nevertheless, we affirm our commitment to these values and express our goal of implementing them through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, and the redeeming love of Christ, to the glory of God.
- WE VALUE: The Bible
The Bible is the only authoritative source of Special Revelation (absolute truth). We affirm the importance of legitimately incorporating biblical truth into all daily activities of our school life.
- WE VALUE: The Home of Our Pupil/ Student
The home is the primary, God-ordained unit in society and for Christian education. We affirm our commitment to working in cooperation with the homeof our pupils who believe that the home isGod’s primary unit in society.
- WE VALUE: The church
The church is the other God-ordained agency for Christian education preparing persons for life and ministry. We affirm our commitment to serving families who actively participate in a local church.
- WE VALUE: Academic Excellence
Academic excellence promotes life-long learning as an expression of Christian stewardship. This cultivates a growing understanding of God’s truth, as revealed through his Word and discovered through what He has created. Our use of the term excellence is not meant to imply elitism or extreme selectivity in our admission policy. By “excellence” we mean providing a high quality education that will enable us to challenge all students to work towards their maximum potential. We seek to serve pupils endowed with a wide range of abilities, creativity and critical thinking.
- WE VALUE: A challenging, balanced, holistic curriculum
We have a challenging academic curriculum (one that is substantive, deliberate and selective). Such a curriculum will nurture an accurate, growing understanding of human beings and their actions, the physical universe, and the realm of ideas. More than just teaching pupils/students what to think, it will teach students how to think, both biblically and critically. A balanced, holistic curricular experience includes a high quality academic core curriculum (Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, ICT etc), a broad enrichment curriculum (creative arts etc), and stretching co-curricular activities (sports, various clubs, etc). Such a curriculum not only promotes scholastic accomplishment, but also helps to equip pupils/students for a productive, continuing leadership.
- WE VALUE: A caring environment for learners from diverse backgrounds.
FCS provides a quality education in a nurturing, caring environment that encourages pupils/students to practice a Godly lifestyle that reflects obedience to God’s Word. We encourage both private and public practice of the Christian disciplines (worship, Bible study, prayer, giving and service.) as modelled by Godly staff. We also welcome persons with widely varied racial, ethnic, intellectual and socio-economic profiles. We affirm the spiritual and educational importance of a broadly representative staff and student body.
